Daily Journal January 15, 1998, William Thomas Thompson. Revive me in thy Holy Spirit dear Lord God, I worship you! Today, Tuesday, We are involved in major repair on two sections of flat roofs on the house and installing downspouts on both sections. I am happy to get these important areas fixed to be dry the right way and not continue to patch up leaks. A second floor shower was leaking for years and because it was seemingly impossible to access, we could only catch the water daily in the downstairs. Today we focused on this problem, first under the shower to pull out all the ceiling, then we found a hinged shelf in the next room kitchen that gave us access to all the pipes in the back of the shower but they were dry. Then I got into the shower on my hands and knees and discovered the grout was missing all around the shower base. This was not very visible when one was standing in the shower. Someone years ago had tried to fix it with caulking but it turned lose being not made for that purpose. Most problems can be resolved if you are willing to get down and face them. People today are quick to replace trouble and even to tear out historic settings for easy fixes. Many times the new is not near as good as the old. It is hard to educate the people to appreciate better things. We are in too big a hurry. I am a long way from painting art today. We are making great progress on the house. With all the needs of the house, my mind is preoccupied on getting as much done as possible of the things hurting the most. I see God's hand in my life daily. I feel the presences of God. I feel that I am coming out of darkness into light. I feel a great mission and call on my life. I feel tapped into the big picture. I also experience great trials daily. Some roads I cannot travel for they are too sad. I remember the good life. I see people that have missed the real value in life; they still count a man by his money, his age and his earthly influence. I pray that I may never view people by their weight or by their position. May we respect all men/women as God's people special humans and love them with Godly love as God loves us and has made us in His own image. I heard a person today speak without regard to his Christian upbringing as though it made no difference. Some people never apply a life time of learning to their daily lives. I say it is wrong. Rev. 2-7,"He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit". There are no short cuts in the Christian life. There is no space for a lazy person in the ways of a Christian. One can profess to be anything but God knows the heart. God is not mocked. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. My job I believe is to show man how he really looks on the inside, how he/she looks before God. To compare their living with the word of God. If I am in the world, I expect people to live like the world. If I am in the church, I expect people to live like Christians. Christian living is not always exhibited by church going people. Victory is available when Biblical principles are applied. There is joy unspeakable and full of glory. The church at large has drifted so far away from teaching holy living and purity. A wealth of greatness exists between the covers of the book, the Bible. It is so clear speaking of the little book in Revelation 10-2 "And He had in His hand a little book open:(the Bible)and He set his right foot upon the sea and his left foot upon the earth. 5-declaring time be no more" God designed life even with the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden. Jesus Christ died that we may be saved from sin but lives today and lets me be His witness. Let me cry aloud the message of eternal life as a child of God. Why do men preach and why do men teach this truth and why do men care about the souls of mankind? Because God planted in us divine caring as God is and does. There is a light we see even with our eyes closed that spells glory to God and an enate knowledge of the truth, a knowledge of right and wrong, we being a product of God
